Hey reader, what makes me want to write? Well, I thought it's about time that Dewey and Lulu get some spotlight for the wonder and joy that they have brought into my family's life. I hope that you get a sense of the amazing animals that they are through my work. I strive for a fun and witty flow in my prose, aiming to capture the warmth and beauty of their journey from shelter buddies to cherished family members.

Thoughts For My Readers

I wrote this book to share a heartwarming story with families and children, but also to highlight the importance of adopting cats from local shelters. I encourage readers to consider adopting from their local shelters, where countless cats are waiting for loving homes. By choosing adoption, we not only change the life of a cat but also enrich our own lives in ways we never imagined. Let's support local shelters and community programs together, ensuring our kiddos and kitties all have a chance to thrive.

About My Book

DEWEY LULU - A Tale of Two Kitties

In a quiet corner of suburban San Jose, Dewey and Lulu found their forever home with me and my husband, Nikhil. We believe that every animal deserves to be loved and a chance at a happy life. This book isn't just about telling a story—it is about the journey of Dewey and Lulu, who came into our lives. Their journey from the shelter to our home is a reminder of the joy and fulfillment that adoption brings. I hope this book inspires others to consider adoption, supporting their local shelters, and giving animals like Dewey and Lulu the loving homes they deserve.

Future Books

Dewey Lulu: Tale of Two Kitties” is the story of how my husband and I adopted Dewey and Lulu together in 2019, just a few months after our wedding. We got to spend a lot of time with them and get to know their unique personalities, especially when we started working from home in 2020 at the peak of the pandemic. I am also working on publishing a sequel - Dewy Lulu: New to the Neighborhood, which is about moving with Dewey and Lulu to our own townhouse in San Jose and how they adapted to a big change. They've helped us get to know our new neighbors and also have been incredible with our newborn son! Just as with my first book, I hope to continue to inspire readers to consider adopting shelter animals and to support community-based programs.
